It’s Saturday and the team is taking on Mississippi and Tennessee at the off-site facility and the winds are no less friendly than the day before.
Well, not much to report as today was somewhat of a repeat performance of the first round as only one match was taken from the opponents in both competitions.
The day ran late and little time was given to get ready for the player’s party at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.
The party was held in the hangar at the park with a good spread provided by Outback, a live band, the usual door prize giveaways and the opportunity to have team pictures made with some type of island clothing accessories to set the theme.
The only disappointment was after eating and team pictures, we soon learned that it was too late to tour the USS Alabama, something I had done while living in Pensacola many years ago. Other’s had done so in more recent years, but nonetheless, all were pissed. All we had needed to know was what time the tour would close, prior to being turned around at the gate.
We soon left after an exhausting day, hoping to have one more chance to take one win home with us to South Carolina on Sunday.
